No more

Just so people passing by this page wont get their hopes up:
We will NOT play anymore gigs, unless we suddenly decide to reunite for a couple of concerts in the future, don't count on it though.
We’re all still good friends and we will all continue making music and record either in Cable Hell, or other places. We still wish to thank those who visited our shows, bought the records, the bands we played with, the promoters, our booker Anne Marie and everyone else who contributed to five exciting years. Look forward to new projects slowly sprouting up from the nutricious dirt of Cable Hell.

Spökraket has recently broken up.

Jacob (member for about a year) decided to leave the band in mid January and Bjørn decided to do the same shortly after. The remaining members Tobias (member for a little over a year) and founding member Jonathan decided upon Bjørn’s departure that it wouldn’t be the same band anymore, and it would make more sense to call it a day for the band. Especially since Bjørn was a big part of the creative process in the band right from the beginning. We recently tried out Nikolai as a replacement for Sinas (who left in November last year). Sadly he didn’t get a decent chance to truly be a part of the band, but it was interesting and fun the little time we had with him.
We will play the gig at Copenhagen Psych Fest in July and also a goodbye gig in Århus around the same time. We’re all still good friends and we will all continue making music and record either in Cable Hell, or maybe other places for some of us. We wish to thank those who visited our shows, bought the records, the bands we played with, the promoters, our booker Anne Marie and everyone else who contributed to five exciting years.

Good things happening around here.

We've been playing two gigs in Czech Republic, one at PsyHigh festival near Pizl and one at a club in Prague, both with our friends from NarcoSatanicos. It was a messy pleasure and I'm still recovering. One highlight of the festival was the huge lake in the middle of the festival, almost forgotten how good swimming feels. There's also a big hole in my memory but it will probably get filled out when we get the photos and by reading through my communication with an amazing woman I know.

Straight after the trip it was time to record Morgan Square. It didn't went as smooth as the earlier sessions due to a faulty tape. It was a high pressure session as one of their members is leaving Denmark for six months so we had to cut the basic tracks and his parts. We succeeded after much pain and there's now six songs ready which make the debut album of Morgan Square. Expect some of the very best psychedelia to come out of Denmark, it's way better than all the daft BJM-copies not to mention Lame Impala.

Tobias and Jacob have settled will into the mad collective that is Spökraket and they'll play a big role on the next album. There's two songs more or less written and loads and loads of riffs and ideas waiting to become finished songs.

Next up is two gigs in Århus, one in Copenhagen and one in Thy. A few more is in the making. We'll record a new song or two for album number four before Sinas goes to Mexico for a month, insallah.

Now it's time to go to the studio and work on new songs with Jacob. We'll share lead vocals on the next album which is amazing as he's got a great voice and it removes some pressure from my shoulders as for making lyrics and such.

Now, this is how drums should sound. Jimmy Miller was one hell of a producer. Here's "Gimme Some Lovin'" by Spencer Davis Group.

Two new members and two festival gigs

So here it finally is... our blog, for those of you who don't like Facebook. There'll be additions like photos and stuff along the way.

Lately we've been focused on playing live as our latest album came out earlier this year and have been well recieved so far. It's been a lot of fun and we've made some serious improvements when it comes to gigs after some rather shambolic performances during 2013 and 2014. In large this is because we had Jacob (guitars, vocals) and Tobias (bass) playing with us. At first they agreed to do a few gigs and everything has working out so well musically and socially that they're now permanent members and will be playing on the next album.

So next up is Spirefestival on Friday which is a small hippie festival. After that we're going to Czech Republic with our mates from NarcoSatanicos to play a psychedelic festival called Psy-High. Come join us if you can :-)

We'll try to keep this blog alive as well as we can.
